My first post!

Hi there—and welcome! I'm Suzanne Stavert, and I’m so glad you’re here. Find Adventure is a new chapter in my writing journey, and I’m excited to share it with you on Substack.

Twelve years ago, I launched a blog called Adventures of Empty Nesters, where I began exploring the joys, surprises, and challenges of life after the kids left home. What started as a personal outlet soon grew into a vibrant community of readers, many of whom were navigating similar life transitions. Over time, my audience organically expanded across three generations: my peers, who travel and relate to our stories; my mom’s generation, who enjoy reading even if they’re less likely to hop on a plane; and our grown kids, who think we’re cooler than we give ourselves credit for and are already dreaming up their own adventures. I love this dynamic trifecta of connections!

As our nest emptied, so did my calendar—and that freedom allowed me to embrace travel more fully. I've since partnered with exciting destinations and brands, discovering unforgettable places and people along the way. When the world paused during the pandemic, I leaned into a new project: my podcast, Travel Connections. Through in-depth interviews with fascinating guests, I explore the many ways travel touches our lives. It’s been a deeply rewarding extension of my love for storytelling and adventure. So, why should you follow along here on Substack? Because I promise to bring you stories that excite, inspire, and maybe even change the way you think about travel. I’ll share my favorite destinations, hidden gems, unforgettable experiences, and the food, wine, chefs, and cultural details that make travel so enriching. I’ll also sprinkle in tips, tools, and resources to help you plan your own journeys—or simply daydream with a bit of wanderlust.

From festive strolls through Paris and London at Christmastime to adventures on six continents, I’ve been fortunate to see a lot—and I can’t wait to pass it all along to you.

A Tuscan Dream—Coming to Life

I’m thrilled to share one of my biggest new adventures: launching a boutique tour company in Tuscany! After years of falling in love with Italy—starting with college trips and continuing through countless return visits—I’ve created a personalized travel experience to share this magical region with small groups of curious, like-minded travelers.

In Spring 2026, I’ll be hosting two intimate, week-long tours in Tuscany, followed by two more in the Fall. You’ll unpack once and spend the week immersed in charming towns like Siena, Montepulciano, and Pienza. Think: exceptional hospitality, wine tastings with local experts, and meals that will stay with you forever. Each tour is hosted by me, my husband, and our incredible team of local guides. It’s like attending the best dinner party ever—only it lasts a whole week and takes place in one of the most beautiful corners of the world.
